About the Running Is For The Birds - 5K, 10K, Kids Run
The course runs along Bolsa Chica State Beach on a paved path right beside the ocean. It is flat the whole way, and the water stays close enough that you can hear it. There are distance options for adults and a shorter run for kids, plus a plogging category if you want to pick up litter as you go.
Free parking at the state beach is available if you arrive before the races begin. After the finish, there is a festival with vendors, music, and hands-on exhibits from Amigos de Bolsa Chica about the wetlands, including wildlife displays and microscopes. Bike valet and gear check are both set up near the start.
