About the Run4Life

Run4Life is held at the Caine Halter Family YMCA in Greenville, with a main course and a shorter fun run option. The race raises money for a local cancer institute, and the fundraising piece is built into registration, so many runners come with team names and personal goals already set before they toe the line.

Packet pickup is available the day before at the YMCA, and again on race morning before the start. Both options are at the same location, so there is no separate trip across town.

Common Questions About the Run4Life

Will I finish last at the Run4Life?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 42:15, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:14:12, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Run4Life a good first 5K?

A field of 554 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Run4Life?

The 5K winner ran 18:31 while the median finisher took 42:15. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
