About the Run2Overcome 5k & 10k

The Run2Overcome is a charity race that benefits the Julie Valentine Center, which serves survivors of sexual assault and abuse. The course runs through Greenville streets, starting and finishing at First Baptist Church. There is also a kids' dash for younger participants. The cause shapes the atmosphere; this is a race where the reason people show up is visible throughout the morning.

Packet pickup runs the afternoon before the race at the Julie Valentine Center on White Horse Road. Race-morning pickup opens early at the church before the start. Awards cover overall and age group placements across both distances.

Common Questions About the Run2Overcome 5k & 10k

Will I finish last at the Run2Overcome 5k & 10k?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.2 Miles field finished slower than 38:02, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:24:22, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Run2Overcome 5k & 10k a good first 3.2 Miles?

A field of 415 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.2 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Run2Overcome 5k & 10k?

The 3.2 Miles winner ran 19:19 while the median finisher took 38:02. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
