About the Run with the Fishes Annual 5K, 10K, & Kids' Fun Run
The course runs along the waterfront of Lake Sammamish State Park, then turns onto a stretch of road past soccer fields before crossing a bridge over Issaquah Creek. From there, a dirt trail follows the creek back through the park. The salmon are actually in the water during the race, which is the whole point. Ten-K runners do a second loop; the trail portion is not suitable for strollers.
After the race, food trucks set up in the park, a local brewery runs a beer garden, and a live band plays. There is also a costume contest with a fish theme, and prizes go to the best individual, family, and team costumes.
