The course runs out and back on paved road, flat the whole way, so there are no surprises underfoot. Costumes are part of the deal here, and enough people show up in them that it changes the feel of the morning. The race benefits local school programs, and that purpose is pretty visible in the crowd.
Parking is on site, and the start is phased so waves go off in sequence rather than all at once. Free event photos are taken during the race.
