About the Run Wild

Run Wild takes place inside the Fort Wayne Zoo, which makes for a genuinely unusual course. The surface changes constantly, moving between concrete, wooden bridges, grass, and gravel as the route winds through the zoo's different animal areas and past landmarks like the Peacock Cafe and Stingray Bay. Some paths are narrow, so the field is capped to keep things manageable.

Participants enter through the Sherman Blvd entrance on race day, not the Goshen Road entrance, which will be closed. Spectators can come inside the front gates and watch from the main plaza area, though they cannot go beyond certain barriers. Pets are not permitted on course, and service animals need to check in at zoo guest services before the start.
