About the Run, Turkey, Run! 5K/1 Mile
This is a Thanksgiving morning race held at a recreation campus in Goodyear. The event draws families, and strollers are welcome on the route, which is secured by traffic control and police. There are a couple of distance options, so runners and walkers of different goals tend to show up. Post-race, there are snacks, music, and games with prizes.
Packet pickup runs the evenings before the race at a location announced separately, with race-morning pickup also available. Each registration requires bringing one donated item, such as canned food, diapers, or hygiene products, collected for a children's cancer support organization. Parking is in the lot along Harrison Street.
