About the Run to the Taproom - Creekside Farm Brewery 5K & 8K

The course runs through a working farm that borders the Rappahannock River, on hard-packed dirt and gravel trail that stays wide and manageable rather than technical. Dogs on leashes are welcome, and so are strollers, which tells you something about how the terrain actually feels underfoot. The surroundings are open farm land, not wooded singletrack.

Check-in is on-site at the brewery the morning of the race, so there is no separate pre-race trip to plan. After finishing, food trucks set up nearby and the tasting room opens for the post-race gathering, with live music running through late morning.

Common Questions About the Run to the Taproom - Creekside Farm Brewery 5K & 8K

Will I finish last at the Run to the Taproom - Creekside Farm Brewery 5K & 8K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 39:14, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:03:20, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Run to the Taproom - Creekside Farm Brewery 5K & 8K a good first 5K?

It is a small race (88 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Run to the Taproom - Creekside Farm Brewery 5K & 8K?

The 5K winner ran 20:08 while the median finisher took 39:14. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
