About the Run To Feed The Hungry - Half Marathon, 10k, 5k, 1mi & Kids Dash

The course runs on paved trail at Scioto Audubon Metro Park, starting and finishing at the same line across every distance. Several distance options are available, from a short kids dash up through a half marathon, so families often show up with runners of very different abilities. Proceeds go toward local food pantries, which gives the morning a purpose beyond the race itself.

Packet pickup is race morning only, at the park. Parking is free in the lots near the central activity area. Dogs on leashes are welcome, and strollers are allowed on course. There is a water bowl set up for dogs at the finish, and the post-race spread includes baked goods from a local bakery.

Common Questions About the Run To Feed The Hungry - Half Marathon, 10k, 5k, 1mi & Kids Dash

Will I finish last at the Run To Feed The Hungry - Half Marathon, 10k, 5k, 1mi & Kids Dash?

Almost certainly not. Half the 13.1 Miles field finished slower than 2:08:06, and the last recorded finisher came in around 3:07:45, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Run To Feed The Hungry - Half Marathon, 10k, 5k, 1mi & Kids Dash a good first 13.1 Miles?

It is a small race (91 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 13.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Run To Feed The Hungry - Half Marathon, 10k, 5k, 1mi & Kids Dash?

The 13.1 Miles winner ran 1:15:28 while the median finisher took 2:08:06. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
