About the Run the Vineyards Saddlehill Winery 5K

The course runs through a working vineyard and horse farm on a property that feels nothing like a road race. Underfoot it is mostly cut grass and dirt trail, with some gravel and a stretch along the horse track. The terrain is flat throughout, and the setting is open enough that you can see the vines alongside you as you run.

Packet pickup is race morning at a tent on site, and you want to arrive with time to spare before the start. Parking fills in the front lot first, then spills toward the back of the property. After the race, there is a live musician on the grounds, a wood-fired pizza truck, and complimentary wine for those of drinking age.

Common Questions About the Run the Vineyards Saddlehill Winery 5K

Will I finish last at the Run the Vineyards Saddlehill Winery 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 37:03, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:07:08, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Run the Vineyards Saddlehill Winery 5K a good first 5K?

A field of 304 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Run the Vineyards Saddlehill Winery 5K?

The 5K winner ran 19:25 while the median finisher took 37:03. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
