About the Run The Runway 5K & Kids Fun Run

The course starts on an active airport runway, which is the draw here. You get a stretch of flat tarmac before the route heads out into a residential neighborhood, then comes back to finish on the runway itself. It is an unusual setting for a road race, and the airport context makes even the finish line feel different from a typical park or street race.

No dogs are allowed on the airfield property, so leave them home. The race benefits Disabled American Veterans, and the event is put on by a local running club in partnership with the city and the airport.
