The course runs on the tarmac at Midland Airpark, which means flat, wide-open pavement with no turns around parked cars or tree roots to watch for. It is a genuinely unusual surface for a race morning, the kind of straight runway stretch you would never otherwise get to run on. The airport setting gives the whole thing an open, almost industrial feel.
Packet pickup runs early on race morning at the airpark. The finish area connects directly into a public aviation festival with aircraft on display, flight simulators, food trucks, fire truck demos, and kids' activities, so there is plenty of reason to hang around after you cross the line.
