About the Run for Your Life almost a 4k
This one starts and finishes at a bar called Murky Waters, winding through the Avenues neighborhood in between. The costume contest is a real part of the event, with awards for the best dressed alongside the usual first and last to cross. Proceeds go toward other neighborhood events, so the run has a local, purposeful feel to it.
Registration opens in the early evening before the run starts, so there is no need to show up much earlier. After the run, the party moves back inside Murky Waters, where a drink is included with entry. Timing is handled by a regional timing company, so splits are real.
