About the Rodney Richardson Water Run
The course runs through a historic downtown neighborhood and finishes back at Town Square Park. The route is lined with people shooting water at runners, and the Hattiesburg Fire Department adds a blast at the finish line. It is a road race built around staying cool, and the crowd leans toward families doing both distance options together.
Packet pickup the evening before takes place at a local design studio nearby. Race-morning pickup is also available at the start area in Town Square Park. The race benefits an orphan and family care ministry in Uganda, and some runners choose to participate specifically as charity fundraisers.
