About the Run for the Widows & Orphans 5K
The race takes place on private property just outside of Rockmart, and you choose your route at the start: a road course or a trail course cut through wide grassy paths on the same land. The trail option has some challenge to it, but the paths are broad and open rather than tight singletrack. Both routes begin and finish in the same spot.
Parking is on the property, close to the start and finish area. Awards go deep into age groups for both route options, so there is real competition across the field even at a smaller event like this. The event goes on regardless of weather.
