About the Run For Jimmy 5k / 1 Mile Walk
Run For Jimmy honors a runner who used daily miles to manage his recovery and mental health. The start area sits near the roundabout at the edge of the airport. The chip-timed distance and the untimed walk share the same morning, and the race carries a clear purpose: raising awareness of suicide and its ties to addiction.
Bib pickup happens the afternoon before at a small shelter in South Park, with a second window on race morning for those who cannot make the earlier session. Only runners in the chip-timed distance need a bib; walkers do not.
