About the "Run de Boeuf" 5K
The course starts and finishes at Parker Square near the Maumee River in downtown Waterville, heading out along River Road and back. It is a road race through a historic downtown, so the surroundings are more brick and storefront than trail or park. The route is an out-and-back, which means you see the same stretch twice and can gauge where you stand against the field on the return leg.
Race-day packet pickup is the only option, so plan to arrive with a little extra time before the start. There are a couple of water stops along the course. Light refreshments are at the finish, and food trucks are on hand for the post-race gathering. The whole event is tied to a local festival happening the following day, so the atmosphere around the finish area has that feel to it.
