About the Run & Cube 5K
The gimmick here is real: every runner gets a scrambled cube at bib pickup and is welcome to work on solving it before the gun or while running. Finishing with at least one side solved earns a bonus deduction off your clock time, and more sides means a bigger deduction. The course follows an established local route through Concord.
The cube is yours to fiddle with from the moment you pick up your bib. Runners compete independently, and solved sides are verified with the timing crew at the finish. Refreshments are out after the race, and proceeds split between local school math teams and a speedcubing event abroad.
