About the Route 66 Mother Road 5K Foot Race

The course winds through the streets of downtown Springfield during an active classic car festival, so the route passes rows of vintage vehicles the whole way. The loop format means you cross the finish area more than once, and the checkered flag banner at the start doubles as your landmark throughout. It runs on pavement, flat city blocks.

Packet pickup is race morning at the corner near the start, close enough that there is no real distance between check-in and the start line. Look for the checkered flag banner to orient yourself. Awards are presented shortly after the last finishers come through, most likely in the same area where you started.
