Robinette's Wine Run 5k

Grand Rapids, MI

Registration openAnnual since at least 2021

About the Robinette's Wine Run 5k

The course starts and finishes at Robinette's Apple Haus & Winery, looping through the vineyards on mostly cross-country terrain. Expect grass and uneven ground rather than pavement, so a personal record is unlikely, but the surroundings make that easy to forget. The race goes on rain or shine.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at the winery, which is worth doing if you want to skip the race-morning rush. Day-of pickup opens well before the start. After the race, there is a pour of wine waiting, and if you bring your cup back on a separate visit, you get a discount on a tasting.

Common Questions About the Robinette's Wine Run 5k

Will I finish last at the Robinette's Wine Run 5k?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 41:59, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:14:19, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Robinette's Wine Run 5k a good first 5K?

A field of 372 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Robinette's Wine Run 5k?

The 5K winner ran 18:08 while the median finisher took 41:59. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
