About the River Rat Races 5K Run/Walk, 10K Run, 10M Run
The course runs along the bike trail in Kankakee River State Park, just west of the Rock Creek suspension bridge. The park setting keeps things scenic and largely natural underfoot, with several distance options spreading across the morning. Water is available out on the course, and post-race refreshments are out for anyone staying through the awards.
Packet pickup and race-morning registration both happen at the shelter on the east side of the suspension bridge, so everything is in one spot. The longer distance goes off first, with the shorter distances following a bit later. Post-race ceremony circles back to the same pavilion.
