The course runs on dirt trails through Dover Park, with views from the rim above Billings. The terrain is what you'd expect from a trail race: uneven underfoot, nothing like a road. It wraps up a multi-race series, so the crowd at the finish tends to include people who have been running together all season.
Afterward there is a potluck in the park. People bring food and hang around. It is that kind of finish.
