About the Ridley Creek State Park 25K

The course runs a single clockwise loop through a large state park, starting near one of the park pavilions. It is genuinely hilly, with short steep climbs and rocky, root-laced descents between them. Smooth stretches of single-track offer brief relief before the terrain turns technical again. The route passes a historic mansion and climbs to the top of a hill before dropping back down along the creek.

Common Questions About the Ridley Creek State Park 25K

Will I finish last at the Ridley Creek State Park 25K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 25K field finished slower than 2:50:42, and the last recorded finisher came in around 3:57:16, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Ridley Creek State Park 25K a good first 25K?

It is a small race (123 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 25K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Ridley Creek State Park 25K?

The 25K winner ran 1:49:23 while the median finisher took 2:50:42. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
