Both distances start and finish at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds, which gives the race a solid anchor point in the middle of town. The course runs through Rhinebeck when the trees are turning, and in a good year the canopy overhead goes deep orange and gold. The terrain is on the faster side, without any serious climbing.
