About the Retro Metro District Fun Run
The course runs on closed roads alongside a canal, so the surface is smooth and the sight lines are long. It is flat from start to finish, the kind of setup where you can chase a fast time without worrying about what is coming around the next bend. Police control the route, which keeps traffic out of the picture entirely.
Registration and packet pickup open race morning before the start. Afterward, there are light refreshments at the finish area. The race benefits two local nonprofits focused on community investment and law enforcement outreach in the Phoenix area.

Retro Metro District Fun Run 2025 Results
Going by the 2025 results, this is a small, friendly field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

The Retro Metro District Fun Run has been held every year since at least 2025. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Oct 25, 2026.
