About the Resolution Run 5K and Polar Bear Dive - 2027
The course ends at Lake Washington, and just before the finish line runners can jump into it. It is optional, but most of the field ends up taking the plunge. Those who do and those who skip it are scored separately, so neither group is at a disadvantage. The route is a 5K run or walk, and the finish area has the feel of a New Year's celebration.
Heated changing tents are set up on site for anyone who goes in the water, split by gender, so you are not stuck shivering in wet clothes. Post-race, there is chili, hot chocolate, and apple cider at the finish. A beer garden is also on site for those who want it.

How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Sep 10, 2026.
