About the Relay for Life of Posey County 5K
The course starts at Murphy Park and winds through town toward the river. A good stretch of it runs under tree cover, which helps on a warm morning. Where the route follows the river, the surface shifts to gravel, so road shoes with a little grip are worth thinking about. The rest is paved.
Proceeds go to the American Cancer Society, and age group awards cover a wide range of categories, including separate recognition for walkers. Packet pickup runs in the early morning before the start, so there is no need to make a separate trip the day before.
