The course starts and finishes at a gymnasium near the center of town, looping out along the edge of New Harmony and picking up a river path north of town before turning back. It is flat throughout and runs mostly under tree cover, which makes the middle stretch along the Wabash noticeably quieter than the start and finish areas.
