About the Red Shoe Run: Rockin' 5K

The race starts and finishes at Ronald McDonald House Alabama in downtown Birmingham, raising money so families can stay close while their children receive medical care nearby. Runners are encouraged to show up in costume, and there is an award for the best one. The timed course runs through downtown streets, while a shorter untimed route offers a gentler option.

Packet pickup runs the two evenings before race day at the Ronald McDonald House, and the organizers strongly encourage picking up early to keep things moving on race morning. Walk-up registration opens at the start location on race day. After finishing, there is water, fruit, and granola bars at the post-race gathering, along with a DJ and an awards ceremony.
