About the Razom Freedom Run 5K Chicago
The course runs through Busse Woods, a forest preserve with shaded paths and open green space. The terrain is gentle, and the surroundings feel removed from the surrounding suburbs. The race was founded by a Ukrainian Olympian and benefits prosthetic care and rehabilitation for Ukrainians injured in the war, so there is real weight behind the morning.
The start and finish are both at a picnic grove inside the preserve, accessed from Beisner Road. Signs guide you in from the entrance. Free parking is right there at the grove, a short walk from the start. The organizers recommend arriving well before the gun to leave time for parking, packet pickup, and warming up. There are post-race refreshments and awards for top finishers.
