About the Raising the Barr
The course runs loops around a lake, starting with longer circuits before shifting to shorter ones as the race winds down. It sits somewhere between a fixed-distance race and a timed event, so you are competing against the clock as much as anything else. The lake setting keeps the terrain open and the route readable throughout.
