About the Railroad Reckoning
Railroad Reckoning runs a short loop around Railroad Park in downtown Birmingham, repeating it over and over with a shrinking time window each round. Miss the cutoff and you are done. The course is flat park terrain, and the challenge is entirely in the accumulation: how many loops can you hold before the clock catches you. A fully stocked aid station sits on course to keep you moving between rounds.
A portion of each entry fee goes to Freshwater Land Trust, which conserves land and builds trails across the region. There is a certificate at the end marking however far you made it, and the last few runners standing earn awards.
