About the Rag Tag 5k
This one is simple on purpose. The course is a track at Count Basie Field, run at night under the lights, precisely measured and built for fast times. No hills, no turns that slow you down, no road debris. Just the surface, the lights overhead, and a crowd lining the rail for every lap.
Timing is manual and places are handed out via popsicle sticks, which tells you exactly what kind of operation this is: no-frills, a little scrappy, and completely earnest about it. The race is backed by a local running shop, so expect people who actually know the sport.
