About the Race for the Summitt 5K

This race is organized by pharmacy students at the UT College of Pharmacy and raises money for the Pat Summitt Foundation, which funds Alzheimer's research and awareness. The course runs through the university campus in Knoxville, and the whole morning carries the weight of who it honors, a coach whose record at Tennessee was unlike anything the sport had seen.

Parking is available in several campus lots on race day, though a handful of specific lots near the research building and an orthopedic clinic are closed to participants. The organizers map out the open areas clearly, so arriving with a few extra minutes to find a spot is worthwhile.
