About the Race Day Event's Beer Run & Beer Mile

This one starts and finishes at a bar, which tells you most of what you need to know. Seminole Tap in Fitchburg hosts the whole thing, with distance options ranging from a very short novelty dash to a full beer mile where runners drink a beer before each lap. The beer mile is the main event, and the crowd tends to stick around to watch it unfold.

Post-race, there is 3 Sheeps beer on hand for those who ran the shorter routes. The bar setting means everything is in one place: start line, finish line, and wherever you end up afterward.

Common Questions About the Race Day Event's Beer Run & Beer Mile

Will I finish last at the Race Day Event's Beer Run & Beer Mile?

Almost certainly not. Half the 1 Miles field finished slower than 14:32, and the last recorded finisher came in around 26:23, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Race Day Event's Beer Run & Beer Mile a good first 1 Miles?

It is a small race (192 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Race Day Event's Beer Run & Beer Mile?

The 1 Miles winner ran 7:07 while the median finisher took 14:32. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
