About the QHS 2nd Annual Ugly Christmas Sweater 5K
The course winds through downtown Jonesboro, starting and finishing on the courthouse lawn. It is a holiday-themed run timed to open the Christmas Wonderland in the Pines festival, so the surroundings are dressed for the season. Most runners show up in an ugly sweater, which makes the start line worth arriving early just to look around.
Runners are encouraged to bring a donation for DART, a local domestic abuse support organization. The list of needed items runs from canned food to toiletries to books and crayons, so there is plenty of room to bring something useful. The courthouse lawn serves as the gathering point before and after.
