About the 5th Annual Purple Light Project 5K
This race is tied directly to a behavioral health campus in Hartford, where all entry fees go toward patient support: things like food vouchers, warm clothing, and transportation. The route runs from that campus, so the surroundings carry some meaning beyond a typical road race. Timing is handled professionally, and age-group awards cover a wide spread of runners.
There is a children's fun run before the main race, so families tend to show up early. Registration opens that morning on site, and the start area is the campus itself at the corner of Retreat Ave.
