About the Pumpkin Run 10K, 5K & 1Mile

The course runs through Lynn Creek Park along the edge of Joe Pool Lake, so there is water visible for much of the route. The terrain is park paths rather than road, and the surroundings stay wooded and open at the same time. Age group awards go several places deep for both distances.

Packet pickup runs the two evenings before the race at a nutrition and supplement shop not far from the park. Race-morning pickup opens early under a large white tent at the start. After the race, there is a pancake breakfast, along with face painting, pumpkin decorating, and vendor booths.

Common Questions About the Pumpkin Run 10K, 5K & 1Mile

Will I finish last at the Pumpkin Run 10K, 5K & 1Mile?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5.1 Miles field finished slower than 35:23, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:20:39, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Pumpkin Run 10K, 5K & 1Mile a good first 5.1 Miles?

A field of 358 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Pumpkin Run 10K, 5K & 1Mile?

The 5.1 Miles winner ran 18:26 while the median finisher took 35:23. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
