About the Pumpkin Giveaway 5k and One Miler
The race is held on the grounds of an insurance company's campus in Concord, and the morning is organized around a broader community walk event. The course is a road run, and the setting has an open, campus feel rather than a park or trail character.
A pumpkin goes home with every participant, which gives the morning a seasonal, harvest-fair quality. The races are staggered across the morning, with the mile going off first and the walk following well after the runs are done, so the energy on site builds gradually.
