About the 9th Annual PTSD Awareness 5K Run/Walk
This race is built around PTSD awareness for first responders, and that purpose shapes the morning. It starts and finishes at a church in Peoria, with proceeds going to a foundation that funds mental health services and education for first responders dealing with stress and trauma. Age-group awards go to top finishers across a wide spread of categories.
Packet pickup is the morning of the race, starting before dawn. Post-race, there are refreshments on course and at the finish, with coffee provided by a local coffee company. There is also a raffle, though you need to be present to be eligible.
