About the Providence Rhode Races
The course starts at Bold Point Park and moves through several historic neighborhoods, with tree-lined streets giving way to working waterfronts and stretches with open water visible on one side. It is a road race that feels genuinely varied, the kind of route where the surroundings keep changing rather than repeating the same block.
The park serves as the central hub for all distances, so the start area has some activity to it before things get going. The marathon course carries USATF certification and qualifies for Boston, which draws a particular type of runner to the field alongside those out for a shorter morning.
