About the 11th Annual Plattsburgh Tour de Force Charity Run and Bike Race
This is a charity event held at Point Au Roche state park beach, and the setting shapes everything about the morning. Races start beneath a large American flag after an opening ceremony that honors fallen law enforcement officers and their families, with state troopers arriving by motorcade and special guests on hand. The tone is solemn before it becomes a race.
Registration check-in is inside a building near the bathrooms at the lake, so orient yourself to the water when you arrive. The ceremony comes first, then the various distances send off in waves through the morning. Trophies go to top finishers shortly after the faster races wrap up.
