About the Pink Strides 5K
Pink Strides is a campus 5K put on by the American Cancer Society's student chapter at the University of Iowa, held in the fall to raise money for cancer research and patient services. The proceeds go toward research grants, patient programs, and a local Hope Lodge that provides lodging for cancer patients.
The race has a charitable heart to it. Runners show up in pink, many in tutus, to honor breast cancer survivors. It feeds into the student chapter's broader fundraising year, which builds toward their annual Relay For Life campus event.
