About the Pequot Runners Thanksgiving Day Race
This is a Thanksgiving morning race in Southport, and the club behind it has been running it long enough that the whole thing feels like a neighborhood ritual. Proceeds go to local organizations, including a boys and girls club, a library, and an EMS service, so the entry fee does real work in the community. Dogs and strollers join the walk but stay off the run course.
Packet pickup runs across the few days before the race at the Wakeman Boys and Girls Club on Center Street. Parking can be tight, and the organizers are upfront about it: the train station lots, the Pequot Library, nearby retail lots on the Post Road, and the Southport Congregational Church all have spaces, but arriving early makes a real difference.
