The course runs on road along Pensacola Beach, so expect flat pavement near the water. People show up in Mardi Gras costumes, and the costume contest is taken seriously enough that it shapes the whole morning. There is a breakfast spread at the finish, and the crowd tends to be more dressed up than most road races.
