About the 17th Annual Pecan Classic 10K and 5K Run/Walk

Both routes run on dirt roads through pecan orchards, which puts you under a canopy of trees for the whole race. The longer course loops through the orchard; the shorter one goes out and turns back at the midpoint. The footing is soft dirt, the shade is real, and the setting is about as far from a road race as you can get while still being a road race.

Bib pickup opens before the start, so there is no need to come the day before. After you finish, there is a pancake breakfast at the venue. The race is one stop in a series that returns to the same orchards across different seasons, if the setting pulls you back.
