About the PCFLV's 17th Annual Ready, Set, Gold 5K Walk/8K Run/Kids' Fun Run

The course runs along the Ironton Rail Trail, a paved path that makes for smooth footing and a straightforward out-and-back shape. The surroundings are quiet and open, the kind of terrain that suits both walkers and runners without asking much of either. The race benefits a pediatric cancer foundation, and that purpose is visible in how the event is organized, with team fundraising built into the structure.

Packet pickup runs the day before at a park pavilion in Coplay, with race-morning pickup available as well. The start area is at the same park. Prizes go to top finishers by gender and age group, and there are also awards for fundraising teams, including one for the best superhero-themed squad.
