The course runs through Freeman Lake Park, so expect park paths with the lake somewhere nearby rather than open roads. Cheerleaders from the school's cheer team line the route with pom-poms, which gives the whole thing an unusual energy for a road race. Spirit-themed costume awards are handed out near the finish alongside the usual age group results.
