About the ORRC Best Dam Run - 10K

The course starts east of town at a lake and follows the Clackamas River most of the way back in, finishing in downtown Estacada. It is a point-to-point route, so buses take runners to the start. The river corridor brings trees overhead, exposed rock faces, and open water where bald eagles and osprey tend to show up.

Post-race food and an awards ceremony happen near the finish, at the intersection where Broadway meets the main drag. The surrounding blocks have shops and spots to wander if you want to stretch the morning out a bit.

Common Questions About the ORRC Best Dam Run - 10K

Will I finish last at the ORRC Best Dam Run - 10K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 10K field finished slower than 1:00:23, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:54:34, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the ORRC Best Dam Run - 10K a good first 10K?

A field of 205 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 10K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the ORRC Best Dam Run - 10K?

The 10K winner ran 33:11 while the median finisher took 1:00:23. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
