About the OPERATION TROOP APPRECIATION VETERANS DAY 5K
The course runs through Hampton Community Park, a setting that gives the route a scenic, wooded character. There is entertainment along the way, with a DJ keeping things moving near the course. The race supports a military care package charity, so the crowd tends to skew toward people who showed up for both the run and the cause.
Post-race there is an all-American buffet, and apple pies go to the winners in each age group. Packet pickup and the start are both at the park. Expect door prizes and a team challenge competition on top of the standard age group awards.
